Wellrun information
Accessibility statement
Wellrun is built for browser-first use on current phones, tablets and desktops. The standard we work to is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement says where the product actually sits against it, rather than describing an intention.
Where it stands, as at 29 September 2026
Assessed 4 September 2026 and reviewed again on 5 September 2026, in a full manual review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the marketing pages, the guides and every screen in the product. Since then the product has been tested automatically, and this is what those tests covered and found.
- On 24 September 2026 every screen in the product was checked with axe for WCAG 2.2 Level AA, signed in as each kind of person who uses it: a visitor, an owner, a manager, a member of staff and an outside adviser. Each was checked at a phone width and a desktop width, in light and dark mode. No failures were found.
- On 29 September 2026 every public page and guide was checked the same way at fifteen widths from 320 pixels up in Chromium, and at three widths each in Firefox and WebKit. No failures were found, and the one reflow fault found on the way, a header that did not fit a 320 pixel screen, was fixed the same day.
An automated check finds some faults and cannot find others, so it is not the same as a person using the product with a screen reader. That review is next, and what is not fixed yet is listed below.
What we hold ourselves to
- Tap targets are 44 by 44 pixels or larger, which is above the 24 pixel minimum the standard sets. Any exception we know about is listed under Known departures below, and if that list is empty of them it is because we have not found one, not because there cannot be one. This product is used on a phone, outdoors, often with work gloves.
- Keyboard focus is visible on every control, including the ones that hide a real checkbox and draw their own box.
- Text inputs are 16 pixels or larger, so iOS does not zoom the page when you tap one.
- Nothing is conveyed by colour alone. There is no score, no percentage and no traffic light anywhere in the product.
- Motion respects the reduced-motion setting on your device.
- Sign-in is a link sent to your email. There is no password to remember and no puzzle to solve. Owners and administrators can choose to add a six-digit code from an authenticator app as well.
Fixed on 5 September 2026
- Groups of choice buttons are now real radio and checkbox inputs, announced with the question they answer.
- Every control the September review reached clears 44 by 44 pixels, including the text-only ones in panels and footers. That is what was assessed, and it is a smaller statement than the one this line used to make: it said "every control", which is an absolute the paragraph three lines above it had already hedged. An accessibility statement that hedges and then contradicts its own hedge is the one kind of finding that is worse for having been written down.
- The reduced-motion setting no longer freezes loading indicators, and every full-page one is announced to a screen reader.
- In dark mode, no button paints its label the same colour as its background.
- Nothing paints under a phone's notch or home indicator at any width, in either orientation.
Known departures, as at 29 September 2026
These are real and they are being worked through in this order.
- On the home page, the small labels inside the diagrams shrink with the diagram and are under 12 pixels on a phone. Everything each diagram shows is also written out in the text beside it.
- The labels in the phone tab bar are 12.5 pixels, which is under the 13 we hold ourselves to. Everything else in the interface is now 12.8 pixels or larger.
- Where a long name is shortened with an ellipsis, there is not always a way to see the full name.
Feedback
If something in Wellrun is hard to use with a screen reader, a keyboard, a switch device or at a larger text size, we want to know. Email accessibility@wellrun.com.au and we will tell you what we are doing about it.
